The Center for Young Children is located on the IUPUI campus in downtown Indianapolis. The Center provides child care and early childhood education for the University's diverse population as well as the general public and is also a supportive unit of IUPUI. The center is licensed through the state of Indiana. All of the children are encouraged and guided by experienced, degreed and professional teachers. Being part of the University, the Center also acts as a research and training site where students can put textbook theory to practice and faculty can investigate areas of early childhood development and family issues. CYC provides a safe and caring environment that promotes learning and child development. We offer year round programs for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. If you would like to visit the Center for Young Children you can schedule an appointment by directly contacting us at (317)274-3508.
We at the IUPUI Center for Young Children believe that children learn through play, concrete experiences, and interaction with their environment and adults.
By the use of individual, small and whole group activities, plus a variety of experiences, we encourage the children to develop to their full potential with the following goals in mind:
The IUPUI Center for Young Children is located at 321 North Limestone St. on the southwest corner of the IUPUI campus. The IUPUI Center for Young Children is in a 30,000 square foot facility located at Limestone and New York Street. We are in a position to expand programs to include more children of IUPUI faculty, staff and students in its highly acclaimed programs.
The Center also has two separate outside play areas. Each area has been designed with age appropriate equipment and activities. Every classroom has a door with direct access to the outside play areas to help provide a convenient and safe route to and from the classroom.
